With proper care, leather garments can last for many years, developing a rich patina over time. By cleaning, conditioning, and storing your leather pieces appropriately, you’ll preserve their beauty and quality, ensuring they remain wardrobe staples.

• Avoid direct sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause leather to fade and dry out, making it more susceptible to cracking.
• Keep away from heat sources: Leather can become brittle when exposed to heat. Avoid placing your leather garments near radiators, heaters, or in hot cars.
• Air regularly: Leather needs to breathe. Hang your garment in a well-ventilated area, preferably on a padded hanger to retain its shape.
• Avoid excessive moisture: Leather is porous and absorbs water, which can lead to stains or damage. Try to avoid wearing leather in heavy rain. If it does get wet, gently blot the moisture with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry at room temperature.

• Wipe regularly: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the surface of your leather garment every few weeks. This helps remove dust and light grime.

• Stuff loose areas: For items like leather jackets or coats, stuff the sleeves and shoulders with tissue paper to maintain their structure.
• Avoid folding: Leather can develop permanent creases if folded for long periods. Always store leather items flat or hung up.

• Suede leather: Suede is more delicate than traditional leather and can easily become stained or damaged by water. Use a suede brush to remove dirt and restore its texture. For water stains, allow the suede to dry completely, then gently rub the area with a soft brush.

• Avoid tumble drying: Heat from dryers can shrink cotton, distort shoulder pads, and weaken adhesives in silicon print or trims. It can also cause metal zips to overheat and warp.

• Close zips before washing: Always zip up the garment before washing to prevent the metal from snagging on other fabrics.
• Dry thoroughly: Metal zips and trims can rust or tarnish if left damp. After washing, make sure the zips are completely dry before storing the garment.
• Polish as needed: To maintain the shine of metal zips and trims, you can occasionally polish them with a soft cloth. If tarnish appears, use a gentle metal polish designed for delicate materials.
